Laurence’s latest project is another Inkle Studios’ game - this time set in the Highlands of Scotland. The game follows Moira McKinnon as she runs away from home in an attempt to reach the sea.
Laurence’s first collaboration with game studio, Failbetter Games. A tale set in a darkly gothic fallen London with stories of romance, mystery and intrigue that the character creates.
Released on September 22nd 2020. Soundtrack available via Bandcamp as a digital download and CD. Scala Radio’s Luci Holland described it as “Totally sublime” on The Console - the station’s game soundtrack show.
Laurence worked as an orchestrator during 2018/19 on another instalment of the Total War Saga. Set in ancient China, the score, composed by Richard Beddow et al, features orchestra as well as Gezhung, Xiao, Erhu and a multitude of Chinese instruments.

Heaven's Vault is an sci-fi archaeology game from inkle Studios for PS4 and PC. Aliya Elasra and her robot, Six, search for a missing roboticist and decode a ancient language. Laurence Chapman’s score features beautiful performances from Leos Strings and the haunting vocals of Hayley Glennie-Smith. . Click here to see the trailer

In another documentary from David Modell, Laurence co-wrote the original score with Klaus White. The film follows the lawyer Mark Lewis’ attempts to combat his MS through experimental stem cell treatment in Israel. The documentary was broadcast on Channel 4 on Thursday 23rd November 2017.
In Autumn 2017, Laurence provided original music to David Modell's documentary on the Labour Party's election campaign of the same year. As with other documentaries, Laurence has used a synth approach throughout as opposed to his more familiar live approach...
June 2017 saw Laurence working as an Orchestrator/Transcriber on Creative Assembly’s Total War: Warhammer 2 featuring music by, among others, Richard Beddow and Simon Ravn. the game is available from the Total War Website.
Alongside David Butterworth, Laurence worked as an orchestrator for LA-based composer Tom Howe.
The film tells the story of psychologist William Moulton Marston, and his polyamorous relationship with his wife and his mistress who would inspire his creation of the superheroine, Wonder Woman.
For the first part of 2017, Laurence worked as an orchestrator and assistant to composer Andy Price on the US show 'Knightfall.' The series featured the story of the Knights Templar as they attempted to recover the Holy Grail after losing it during the siege of Acre. The score was suitably large-scale employing an orchestra and choir as well as token Arabic wind instruments as well as a small Medieval dance band.
Between 2015-2017, Laurence worked as an assistant to Andy Price on CBBC's adaptations of Jacqueline Wilson's books. In later series he provided additional music...
In mid 2016, Laurence composed music to Cape Guy's debut game which was released in November. The music was composed to match the pace and look of the game and performed by members of Leos Strings who can be seen recording the music...
Awarded Best Music Score at the 2024 London Rolling Film Festival. Laurence composed a quirky yet nuanced score for Writer/Director Sara Jordan's short comedy.
