ORchestration & Arranging services

In addition to composing, Laurence offers a range of professional services tailored to meet the needs of composers, filmmakers, and video game developers. With a solid background in orchestration, arranging, and music transcription, he’s equally comfortable working on both large-scale projects and smaller, more intimate musical endeavours. Services include:

Orchestration: Transforming composer’s sketches (MIDI or other) into full orchestral scores. He has experience in smaller ensembles (ca. 30 musicians) to full symphony orchestra and choir.

Arrangement: Adapting and reworking existing compositions for different ensembles, genres, or purposes, while maintaining the original vision and integrity of the work.

Copyist Services: Preparing clear, accurate scores for recording sessions, ensuring clarity and precision in the written music.

MIDI Transcription: Services range from a note-for-note take down of the composer’s MIDI sketch with added dynamics and expressive markings to more complex arrangements where aspects such as voice leading are taken into account and adapted to live performance. He is also able to create full string arrangements for songwriters. Laurence regularly provides the service for composers (both professional and amateur) working in a variety of styles using Brookspeare Music Studio’s remote recording service.

Experience

Laurence has had the privilege of contributing to numerous high-profile projects across various media. He has orchestrated scores for Creative Assembly’s critically acclaimed Total War video game series, demonstrating a strong command of both traditional orchestral techniques and the demands of contemporary game scoring.

He has worked as a booth reader and copyist at Abbey Road Studios; one of the world’s most iconic recording facilities.

In addition to his work in the gaming industry, Laurence has worked alongside experienced orchestrator David Butterworth on film and documentary scores, including Dog Man (2025), Parenthood (TBA), and Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017).
