In The Highlands of Scotland…

Laurence Chapman’s scintillating score crests the hills and roams the valleys, bringing to mind foggy mornings, soaring views, long walks and quiet nights under the stars. Rich, haunting and atmospheric, it will take listeners on an unforgettable journey.

Gameplay and music from Inkle Studios’ A Highland Song

Moira McKinnon has never seen the sea.

For fifteen years she’s lived with her mum in a small house on the edge of the Scottish Highlands—then one day she receives a letter from her Uncle Hamish urging her to come to the coast. If she can reach his lighthouse on May Day, a wonderful surprise will be waiting...

And so, Moira runs away.

A wild adventure through the Scottish Highlands, with open platforming and dynamic storytelling, maps and music. From the creators of Heaven's Vault and 80 Days.

The album is available on all major streaming platforms and can be downloaded via bandcamp. (See below)

Laurence’s role on A Highland Song was to compose the underscore for the game as Moira goes on her travels. The music has a distinctly Scottish feel to it and violinist Elaine Ambridge has done a fantastic job brining the main theme to live. She also recorded several ethereal solo violin tracks akin to Heaven’s Vault. There’s some wonderful string sextet playing from the musicians at Brookspeare Music Studio too.
